Guide: the basics
Male vitality basics: sleep, movement, checkups and stamina supplements
The basics of male vitality are habits and checkups: 7 or more hours of sleep, 150 minutes a week of moderate activity, a blood pressure under 120/80, and a clinician for erection problems or low-testosterone symptoms. We found no source showing a food or a stamina supplement raises testosterone, and no trial tested HoneyBoost.

What are the basics of male vitality?
The basics are ordinary and measurable: enough sleep, regular movement, healthy blood pressure and a checkup when something changes.
These habits are not exciting, and none is a quick fix. They matter because the same blood vessels and nerves involved in energy and sexual function are the ones that blood pressure, activity and sleep affect. Health agencies publish plain targets for each, and the table sets them side by side.
| Habit | Target | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Sleep | 7 or more hours a night for adults | CDC (CDC, Sleep) |
| Movement | 150 minutes a week of moderate activity, plus muscle strengthening on 2 days | CDC (CDC, Adult activity) |
| Blood pressure | Normal is under 120/80; high pressure usually has no symptoms | CDC, AHA (CDC, High blood pressure) (AHA, BP readings) |
| Eating pattern | A healthy, Mediterranean-style diet lowers the risk of erection problems | NIDDK (NIDDK, ED diet) |
150 minutes is 30 minutes on 5 days (30 x 5). Walking counts.
Six habits
What are natural ways to support testosterone and erection health?
The sources we read support habits and checks for heart and blood-vessel health, and they do not show that any habit raises testosterone.
That distinction matters. Erection health is tied to blood vessels, so heart-health habits are relevant. For testosterone itself, the guidelines say to test it, not to guess (Endocrine Society testosterone). Read the six cards as a care plan, not as a testosterone plan.
- Heart and blood vesselsErectile problems often come before heart disease by 3 to 5 years, because the two share blood-vessel causes; blood pressure and heart checks matter. (Diaconu 2020, ED and heart) (CDC, High blood pressure)
- Blood pressureHigh blood pressure usually has no symptoms and can affect erections; normal is under 120/80. (AHA, BP readings) (CDC, High blood pressure)
- Moving most daysThe HHS guidelines say 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity a week plus muscle strengthening on 2 or more days; walking counts. (CDC, Adult activity)
- SleepAdults need 7 or more hours a night; low sleep is part of the picture in the health-agency pages we read. (CDC, Sleep)
- Testosterone is a blood testGuidelines say to diagnose low testosterone only with symptoms plus repeated morning blood tests, not from a supplement or a guess. (Endocrine Society testosterone) (AUA testosterone guideline)
- A clinician's optionsNIDDK and the AUA describe ED treatments, who they are for and why a medical check comes first; a supplement is not on that list. (NIDDK, ED treatment) (AUA ED guideline)
Food
Are there testosterone booster foods?
We found no source that shows a particular food raises testosterone in men, so we do not list one.
Web lists of "testosterone booster foods" are common. We did not find a trial or guideline among our sources that supports them, and we will not repeat the claim without one. What the sources do support is an overall eating pattern. NIDDK says a healthy, Mediterranean-style diet lowers the risk of erection problems (NIDDK, ED diet).
The zinc question
Zinc is a mineral found in food, and men need 11 mg a day, with an upper limit of 40 mg (NIH ODS, zinc). In a small 1996 study, restricting zinc lowered testosterone in 4 young men, and zinc supplements raised it in 9 older men who were marginally low in zinc (Prasad 1996, zinc and T). In sub-fertile men, folate plus zinc did not change testosterone, though sperm measures rose (Irani 2017, folate and zinc meta). None of this tested HoneyBoost, and we found no source that links zinc to sexual function.
Each gummy has 2.5 mg of zinc, which is about 23% of the 11 mg Daily Value (2.5 / 11).
Stamina
Does a stamina supplement or mental stamina supplement work?
We found no trial showing that a stamina supplement of this kind works, and the category has a documented safety problem.
A review of 52 studies on 27 proposed testosterone boosters found that most fail to raise total testosterone (Morgado 2024, T booster review). A review of 32 top testosterone and erection supplements found no whole product with published randomized-trial results (Kuchakulla 2021, ingredient review).
The one stress-related study we read is small. In 63 stressed adults, men and women pooled, a tongkat ali extract was given for 4 weeks. Cortisol fell 16% and salivary testosterone rose 37% (Talbott 2013, tongkat ali stress). The abstract does not give the dose, the group mixes men and women, and it measured stress hormones, not mental stamina. Tongkat ali is one of HoneyBoost's rows at 25 mg per gummy, and no trial tested HoneyBoost.
Sexual-enhancement and "male energy" or stamina products also have a record of hidden drug ingredients, according to FDA warnings (FDA tainted sexual products). That is a statement about the category, and we have no lab report for HoneyBoost either way. Read more on the hidden drug ingredients page.

Where does HoneyBoost fit in?
HoneyBoost is a dietary supplement sold as honey-flavored gummies, 30 to a bottle. It sits beside the basics, not in place of them.
The wrap prints “PEAK STAMINA†” and “PERFORMANCE SUPPORT†” with a dagger that leads to the FDA statement: these statements have not been evaluated, and the product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. We found no trial of stamina with this gummy.
The amounts are small. Per gummy: tongkat ali 25 mg, maca, horny goat weed, damiana, mucuna and L-arginine at 10 mg each, plus 2.5 mg of zinc. In studies, tongkat ali was used at 200 mg a day, so 25 mg is one eighth of it (25 / 200) (Tambi 2012, tongkat ali LOH). Maca at 100 mg of root equivalent is about 7% of 1,500 mg (100 / 1,500) (Gonzales 2002, maca desire and T).
Each gummy also has 3 g of added sugar, 6% of the 50 g Daily Value (3 / 50). A bottle holds 90 g of added sugar over 30 gummies (30 x 3). The wrap prints no suggested-use line, so follow the bottle and ask the order desk. See how to use it.
Checkups
When do the basics stop being enough?
They stop being enough when something changes or does not improve, such as erection problems or symptoms you think are low testosterone.
Erection problems can be an early sign of heart or blood-vessel disease, appearing about 3 to 5 years before it (Diaconu 2020, ED and heart). Low testosterone is diagnosed with symptoms plus repeated morning blood tests (AUA testosterone guideline). Both need a clinician, and a supplement is not on the clinicians' treatment lists (NIDDK, ED treatment).
Keep taking prescribed medicine. Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before adding any supplement if you take nitrates, blood pressure medicine or any prescription. The next step is on the when to see a clinician page.
Your list
What can you bring to a checkup?
Bring a short list: your symptoms and when they began, every medicine and supplement you take, and your questions.
- Your sleep hours, activity and home blood pressure readings, if you have them.
- A list of medicines, including nitrates, blood pressure medicines and supplements.
- Any chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing, which need 911 and not an appointment.
FAQ
Male vitality basics FAQ
What are testosterone booster foods?
We found no source that shows a particular food raises testosterone in men. What the sources support is an overall healthy, Mediterranean-style eating pattern, which lowers the risk of erection problems. A blood test is how low testosterone is found.
What are natural ways to support testosterone?
We found no habit proven to raise testosterone. Sleep of 7 or more hours, 150 minutes of activity a week and normal blood pressure support general and blood-vessel health. If you suspect low testosterone, a clinician orders repeated morning blood tests.
Is there a supplement for mental stamina?
We found no trial that shows a mental stamina supplement works, and none tested HoneyBoost. One small tongkat ali study measured stress hormones in 63 adults over 4 weeks, which is not the same as mental stamina.
Do stamina supplements contain hidden drugs?
Some products in the sexual-enhancement and stamina category have. The FDA warns many are likely contaminated with hidden drug ingredients. We have no lab report for HoneyBoost, so we cannot say it is free of them.
How much sleep and exercise should an adult get?
The CDC says adults need 7 or more hours of sleep a night. It also recommends 150 minutes a week of moderate activity, such as 30 minutes on 5 days, plus muscle-strengthening activity on 2 days.
Does zinc raise testosterone?
In a 1996 study, zinc supplements raised testosterone in 9 older men with marginally low zinc, and restriction lowered it in 4 young men. It is not proof for men with enough zinc. A gummy with 2.5 mg is about 23% of the 11 mg Daily Value.
