HoneyBoost extract ratio: what 100:1 and “equivalent to” really mean
A HoneyBoost extract ratio says how much raw plant went into making the extract. The 100:1 tongkat ali row is 25 mg of extract, printed as equivalent to 2,500 mg of root (25 x 100). The gummy does not hold 2,500 mg of root. It holds 25 mg of a concentrate.

The direct answer
What is a HoneyBoost extract ratio?
It is the amount of raw plant used per unit of extract. A 10:1 ratio means about 10 parts of plant went into 1 part of extract.
Four rows on the panel print a ratio and an "equivalent to" line: maca 10:1, horny goat weed 8:1, damiana 5:1 and tongkat ali 100:1 (HoneyBoost label). Multiply the extract by the ratio and you get the printed equivalent. That figure describes the raw material behind the extract, not what is in the gummy.
The arithmetic
What is each row equivalent to?
Each row is equivalent to the amount in the last column, and the sums below are all you need.
| Row | Ratio | Extract | Equivalent to | Sum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maca root | 10:1 | 10 mg | 100 mg root | 10 x 10 |
| Horny goat weed | 8:1 | 10 mg | 80 mg herb | 10 x 8 |
| Damiana leaf | 5:1 | 10 mg | 50 mg leaf | 10 x 5 |
| Tongkat ali root | 100:1 | 25 mg | 2,500 mg root | 25 x 100 |
Mucuna has no ratio. Its row is 10 mg of extract standardized to 98% L-DOPA, which is 9.8 mg (10 x 98%). L-arginine is 10 mg.

Is 2,500 mg of tongkat ali root in each gummy?
No. Each gummy weighs 4.2 g and holds 25 mg of tongkat ali extract, about 0.6% of its weight (25/4,200).
The extract is a concentrate of roughly 2.5 g of root. Pick a row and see the extract, the ratio and the equivalent side by side.

Next to the amount studies used
Trials used 1,500 to 3,000 mg a day of maca powder and 2,400 mg of a dry extract
A ratio says how much raw herb went into the extract, not how strong it is.
| Row | Extract per gummy | Ratio | Printed equivalent | Studies used |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maca root | 10 mg | 10:1 | 100 mg | Trials used 1,500 to 3,000 mg a day of maca powder and 2,400 mg of a dry extract |
| Horny goat weed | 10 mg | 8:1 | 80 mg | No human dose found |
| Damiana leaf | 10 mg | 5:1 | 50 mg | No human dose found for damiana alone |
| Tongkat ali root | 25 mg | 100:1 | 2,500 mg | Two open-label studies used 200 mg a day of extract |
Extract mg × ratio = the equivalent the label prints (10 × 10 = 100, 10 × 8 = 80, 10 × 5 = 50, 25 × 100 = 2,500). Study amounts are what the linked trials gave, not what this gummy does; none tested HoneyBoost.

How do equivalents compare with studied doses?
They cannot be compared directly, because studies used different materials.
Open-label tongkat ali work gave 200 mg a day of extract for one month to 76 men with late-onset hypogonadism, without a control group (Tambi 2012, tongkat ali LOH). The gummy's 25 mg is one eighth of that (25/200), and the studies' extracts may have different ratios. The maca trial used 1,500 or 3,000 mg a day of powder (Gonzales 2002, maca desire and T); the gummy's 100 mg root equivalent is about 7% of 1,500 mg. No trial tested HoneyBoost.
The label also does not say how much icariin the horny goat weed row holds, or who tested the percentages. We have no lab report. Ask a clinician or pharmacist before combining it with medicines; the label says not to take it with other medications.

FAQ
HoneyBoost questions people ask
What does equivalent to maca root mean on the label?
It means 10 mg of 10:1 maca extract was made from about 100 mg of root (10 x 10). It is a raw-material figure, not a dose of root in the gummy, and it is not a measure of strength.
Is a higher extract ratio stronger?
Not necessarily. A 100:1 ratio says more raw root went into each part of extract, but strength depends on the plant, the method and the active compounds, which the label does not report for most rows.
Why is the mucuna row different?
Mucuna prints no ratio. It gives 10 mg of extract standardized to 98% L-DOPA, or 9.8 mg. L-DOPA is the compound in Parkinson's medicines, so ask a pharmacist first if you take any.
